My educational background:
I hold a PhD in Psychology from University of Delhi. My PhD research was titled
''A Study of the Reconstruction of Women's Attitudes towards the Girl Child''
It was an action-oriented research and determined the efficacy of a cognitive intervention technique in changing gender-related attitudes.
I conducted over 800 hours of counselling sessions with the research subjects.
I hold a Master's degree in Psychology from Bangalore University, which I attended as a National Merit Scholar.

counselling and Training Experience:
Independent practice as a Consultant psychotherapist.
In the past 15 years that I have worked as a psychotherapist, I have counseled individuals and families for emotional and psychological problems through individual counselling and workshops. I have dealt with male and female clients covering an age range from 16 to nearly 70 coming from all sections of society. My clients include Indians living in USA, Canada, Europe, UAE, Australia, Singapore. Some of the concerns which my clients have explored in counselling sessions include:

My Theoretical Orientation:
I primarily use the cognitive therapy approach to counselling However, as and when appropriate, I use the approaches of other therapeutic interventions- e.g. gestalt therapy, existential therapy, person-centered therapy, spiritual psychology, in order to maximally and effectively help my clients.

The aim of this organization is the psychological and social empowerment of individuals and families through group and individual counselling. As Director I have designed and conducted many workshops for students of professional courses, women's groups, NGO representatives and mixed groups.

In this book I have addressed the issue of changing negative attitudes of mothers towards their girl children. I have illustrated the efficacy of cognitive therapy techniques in attitude reconstruction .
