Building Stronger Communities Through Connection, Conversation & Wellbeing

Our commitment extends beyond the therapy room. From the pioneering Koham community to today's Within Circle, we've created meaningful spaces where people come together to explore identity, build resilience, and foster psychological wellbeing through shared learning, reflection, and authentic connection.

From Koham to The Within Circle

A conviction that psychological wellbeing belongs to communities, not only to consulting rooms.

Koham · 2008 to 2011
The community that started a question

In 2008, two of Dr. Vinaya Prabha's friends read Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life and brought their questions to her. The conversation that followed sparked an idea: what if there were a regular space, not a therapy room, not a lecture hall, where people could gather to explore the inner life together?

That space became Koham. The name is Sanskrit: the ancient inquiry, "Who am I?" It met once a month in Bangalore, drawing between 20 and 50 urban professionals who were, in their own ways, asking the same question, people seeking something beyond the mainstream, something that took their inner life seriously.

Koham

2008 to 2011

Koham was not structured as therapy. It was structured as community: group reflection, shared learning, and honest dialogue.

  • Monthly gatherings in Bangalore
  • 20 to 50 urban professionals
  • Themes spanning meditation, emotional intelligence, self-compassion, and healing
Koham

The community that started a question

Each session explored a theme, from meditation and emotional intelligence to letting go, self-compassion, and the psychology of healing. Experts from across the fields of psychological empowerment and contemplative practice came to speak, and Dr. Vinaya led structured learning discussions rooted in books, psychological frameworks, and the questions her own therapeutic practice kept returning to.

Koham was the first public expression of a conviction that would become the backbone of this practice: that the question "Who am I?" deserves a community, not just a consulting room.

Koham ran until 2011, when Dr. Vinaya's circumstances relocated her and the gatherings had to pause. What the community gave its members, and what it gave its founder, did not pause with it.

Vistara Foundation

Taking wellbeing into the wider world

Alongside Koham, Dr. Vinaya Prabha served as Director of the Vistara Foundation, an NGO dedicated to psychological and social empowerment. This work extended the practice's reach beyond the consulting room and into communities that conventional mental health services did not yet serve.

Her UNICEF-sponsored research on personality and gender-related attitudes of women in poverty alleviation programs reflected the same commitment: that psychological understanding is not a luxury.

The Within Circle · Restarted June 2026

The gathering, reimagined

In June 2026, Dr. Vinaya Prabha restarted the community that Koham began, in a new form, with a new name, and with the full depth of the ReAlign Within™ framework now giving it structure and direction.

The Within Circle is a monthly in-person gathering for urban professionals navigating the questions that a busy life rarely makes space for: loneliness beneath a full calendar, the disorientation of life transitions, the quiet erosion of self beneath achievement, the feeling of belonging everywhere and nowhere at once.

It is not therapy. It is not a workshop. It is a held conversation, thoughtfully facilitated, psychologically grounded, and open to anyone ready to ask the question Koham first asked in 2008: Who am I, really, beneath all of this?

Join The Within Circle

For those who find their way from The Within Circle into individual or couples therapy, the transition is a natural one: the circle has already established the language, the trust, and the quality of honesty that the therapeutic work asks for.

For those who simply need the circle itself, it stands entirely on its own. Both are welcome.
